Sophomore and junior Welding and Metal Fabrication shop students have been getting artistic the last few weeks.
The students have created a wide range of metal sculptures, ornaments and other items of varying sizes, subject matter and price points that will be sold at the annual Little Drummer Craft Fair to be held on Saturday, November 23. Items for sale include sculptures of lobsters, fish, utensils, lizards, reindeer, lawn ornaments, firepits, decorative wall hangings, stars and much more.
"It's traditional in our shop to collectively work on this project," said John Passiglia, Welding and Metal Fabrication instructor. "The students have a lot of freedom to choose the projects they're going to work on. It makes sense to maximize the opportunity we have."
Prices vary depending on the item, and range from $2 for a Franklin County Tech ornament to $300 for a large outdoor sculpture of a fish. All money from the sale of the items will benefit the Welding and Metal Fabrication program.
