FFA Students Attend Massachusetts Agricultural Day at the State House

Six FFA members attended the Massachusetts Agricultural Day in Boston today.

Held annually at the Massachusetts State House, the event is organized by the Massachusetts Farm Bureau. The students, Julia Dickinson, Becca Skelton, Savannah Von Schmidt, Shauney Culver, Laura Fuess and Cecelia Laflamme, were accompanied by CTE Director Margaret Nugent, and FFA advisors Sara Dugas and Amanda Mattison.

The students heard from speakers who pushed for them to follow their dreams and continue the strong work they are currently doing. They met with Representative Natalie Blais and Senator Jo Comerford and spoke eloquently about their experiences at FCTS and in FFA, and even got a private tour of the Senate chamber.

Massachusetts Agricultural Day is a day for farmers and their organizations to educate legislators and celebrate the industry, with a focus on challenges and the need for supportive state policies.
