Blacksmithing & Forging ALL CLASSES FULL! In its fourth year! Taught by an FCTS teacher/ blacksmith who has taught these skills to Boy Scouts and other youth. You will create fun and useful projects to take home in this program. Students will learn the basics of forging including twisting, splitting, and riveting. |
Hair, Nails & Beauty Fun Week of July 8 - PM CLASS FULL!
A favorite for Tech Connect students. Learn to do hair and nails in our Cosmetology Salon. Braiding, curling, styling, and up-dos. Nail care, polishing, and nail designs. So much fun! Taught by a licensed cosmetologist teacher at FCTS. . |

NASP Archery The National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) is an archery program developed to provide school students in grades 4-12 with exposure to a fun, alternative sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. |

Baseball ALL CLASSES FULL! This activity will focus on baseball skills and drills. Students will develop fielding, catching, pitching, and hitting. The program will conclude on Thursday with a scrimmage and field competition. |
Create Games in Scratch - NEW Students will use Scratch, (a free programming language) from MIT to create 2 or 3 games. Taught by one of our own Programming & Web teachers.

Make Your Own Platform Game Kids will learn the basics of game and character design on a computer. This program will lead to participants creating a fully functioning, online game, using Gamefroot - an online cloud-based platform for making 2D games. . |
Custom Paint and Airbrush ALL CLASSES FULL! Students will learn to custom paint on sheet metal. Students will get to use state-of-the-art spray equipment and airbrushes. They will learn to spray classic flames and a custom airbrush design from one of our own Collision and Repair teachers. |

Rhythm, Rap & Rock This class, in its 2nd year, is for aspiring musicians and non-musicians alike. If you like music, this is for you! Students will meet to listen, play, and generally share their interest in music. Students do not need to have their own instruments or may bring their own.

Basketball Week of July 8th - PM CLASS FULL! Participants will learn the basic skills of basketball. Dribbling, passing proper shooting techniques, free throw shooting, playing offense & defense, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Most importantly, having fun! This program is taught by FCTS’s basketball coach. |

Painting Techniques This activity will explore different areas of painting. Each day, students will learn a new technique - watercolor, acrylic, sharpie, and pencil. |
Jelly Fish Crochet - NEW Students will learn to crochet a soft and squishy fishy! (A Jelly Fish) All materials are included that are needed to complete the project. |

Recreational Sports & Games - NEW This program is a combination of gym class and recess together making a fun and active program. It is taught by a licensed FCTS Physical Education Teacher and Coach. |
Field Hockey - NEW This Field Hockey program will focus on the fundamentals of the game. Students will learn stick skills and shooting techniques, along with learning to play offensively and defensively. . |

Summits Developing upon the success of last year’s “Expeditions” program, the “Summits” program will consist of a series of trips over the four days to the tops of some of our local mountain-top peaks: these include smaller and larger hikes. The days may change based on weather conditions. Included are: Sugarloaf Mountain, DAR Firetower, Mount Toby, Mount Massamet, Bare Mountain, Mount Holyoke, and W.E.B. Dubois Tower Library, UMASS. Appropriate footwear, a rain jacket, and a sense of adventure are the only requirements. Map-reading and journalling will also take place. (This is an AM & PM Class - $180 - ONLY 12 allowed in the class.) |
Soccer - NEW
A soccer activity that your student will love. Students will learn basic soccer skills, such as dribbling, shooting, and ball control. They will scrimmage to practice their newly learned skills. This is taught by FCTS’s own soccer coach.
