Soccer

The boys’ soccer team plays in the Tri-County League, and plays in 18 regular-season games. The season starts in late August and runs until early November.


History: In 2022, the boys’ soccer team qualified for both the Western Mass. Class D tournament and the MIAA State Division 5 tournament, falling in the first round of both tri county leagetournaments to finish the season 10-8-1. In 2021, the team also qualified for both the Western Mass. Class D tournament and the State Division 5 tournament. While it lost in the first round of the Western Mass. tournament, the Eagles did win their first-round game in the State tournament before falling in the round of 32. That same year, they also made it to the State Vocational Small School tournament and lost in the semifinals. The team won its lone Tri-County League championship in 2018.


coachCoach: Kurt Richardson has been coaching the team since its inception. He also played high school soccer and even officiated soccer games before becoming head coach of the varsity squad.

Girl's Soccer
 

The Franklin County Tech girls' soccer team competes in the Bbi-Ccounty League. They are a cooperative team with Turners Falls High School. JV and Varsity play 18 regular season game schedules. They have never won a league title but have qualified for State Vocational, Western Mass, and State tournaments in the past. They last qualified for the State Tournament title in 2023 but lost in the preliminary round. The team ended the fall 2023 season qualifying for both the WMass and State Tournament but fell in the first round in both tournaments.

 

Jason Butynski is the varsity girls' soccer coach. He has been coaching girls' soccer for 3 years. He played soccer in high school and later officiated for 4 years. Daniel Prasol coaches the JV Girls' team.
