Plumbing & Heating

The plumbing-heating program develops student skills for eventual entry-level career opportunities upon graduation. Safety is of paramount importance and students begin their training with a strong foundation of safety measures and build upon those critical skills for plumbing-heating employment. The program is an advanced hybrid of accredited plumbing instruction with heating, cooling, and ventilation fundamentals. Students are exposed to renewable technology and energy efficiency and understand their working relationships with existing residential and commercial equipment. Upon graduation from this program, students prepare to obtain a license from the Massachusetts State Board of Examiners for Plumbers and Gas Fitters.

Plumbing & Heating Customer Work

FCTS, as the regional vocational high school of Franklin County, does so much more than teach in a lab classroom and simulation environment. Trade programs have large shops filled with the same tools and technologies used by those men and women working in the trades. As a true extension of the classroom, authentic automotive projects are critically important to the learning environment. Occasional projects from municipal and non-profit groups offer hands-on learning to the students. Real-world projects truly provide the students with an opportunity to apply what they have learned. Our students thrive on authentic work! Requests for FCTS business work must provide educational value to the students and must align with the curriculum. Please submit your request using the "Work Request" form found in the "Community" section of this website.
