Nicole Miller is a 2014 graduate of the Franklin County Technical School Machine Technology Program, the precursor to the Advanced Manufacturing shop she has been teaching in since September 2018. She is currently pursuing her Massachusetts educator’s license.
Since joining the FCTS vocational faculty, she has aided in transforming the Machine Tech Program into a Chapter 74-approved Advanced Manufacturing shop.
She also founded the Tradeswomen of Tomorrow chapter at FCTS and organizes regular activities that provide students insights into navigating the work world. As one of two female machining teachers in Massachusetts, Nicole strives for honesty, trustworthiness, accountability, kindness, and empathy in her classroom.
Nicole worked at Hillside Plastics during her junior and senior years at FCTS as the only woman in the company’s engineering department. She stayed on and did all of Hillside’s in-house machining for four years where she ran a 3-axis CNC vertical machining center, a 2-axis turning machining center, and also did engineering projects and drafted blueprints.
Nicole started working at FCTS as the JV Girls Basketball coach in 2018.

Scott Wolfram is a 1992 graduate of Franklin Tech. Graduating from the Auto Mechanics shop, he went on to work in many aspects of metalworking. In 1993, he started working as a blacksmith. After many years mastering the craft, he went on to a successful career in ornamental ironworking, with many works in private residences and museums, culminating in a large project for Yale University of five large hand-forged gates incorporating historical elements and decorative features of the prestigious school.
Scott also worked for many years in an aerospace machine shop manufacturing a variety of parts from stamps to more precise work, which included landing gear parts for fighter jets. Scott is skilled in all aspects of machining. He is not only an experienced toolmaker, but also fluent in current technology in CNC machining. Scott taught the adult learner Advanced Manufacturing Pipeline (AMP-CNC) program, through Greenfield Community College from 2010-2015. He has worked as an advanced manufacturing teacher in the high school vocational setting for four years, first at Smith Vocational, and then CTEC Lower Pioneer Valley Education Collaborative.
Scott is an upright bass player with the band, Love Crumbs. Their songs can be heard on most streaming platforms, and local radio stations. He lives in Conway with his wife Beth, stepson Jack, and Boston Terrier, Poppy. He has a daughter, Rhiannon, who is in college. Scott is very excited to be a part of the FCTS community. He has a deep understanding and affinity for the county and its people as he has lived in Franklin County his whole life. He is looking forward to fostering the success of his students in the world of Advanced Manufacturing!
